Status Report

February 2021

Status Report

Cycling tours, stories, and incidental posts may be limited for a while.

First, most of the organized rides for 2021 are presently listed as TBA on cycling sites such as WheelBrothers. Rides may be limited to local until more tour organizers decide to charge onward.

Secondly, Monday, I start a regimen of chemo/radiation therapy and I will have to wait to see how my body reacts to the treatment. Have been told it would go on for 4-7 weeks. We will see.

Christine and I are eager to get back on the saddles and explore Texas. I plan on going to as many tours as possible even if I have to ride the 10 mile courses. If I do the10's, I may have found a way to beat Christine to the finish line and regain my bragging rights.

Hope to publish more soon.

And the sky is not cloudy all day

Door Key Road

Winter 2020

"And the sky is not cloudy all day." So goes the song Home Home on the Range. Yet we do have cloudy days and sometimes rain.
Have you ever gone for a ride and get completely distracted by the terrain or sky? This is another post I found in my draft section. It was a nice winter day, so Christine and I went to one of our favorite ride locations, Door Key Road.
Shortly into the ride I started noticing the clouds and overcast day and wondered if we were destined to get wet.
Nah. Just cloudy.
So, I spent most of the ride just looking up at the clouds.
And, occasionally, looking down to see where I was going.

Turn around point. About 14.6 miles out.

My cloud watching is as bad as my taking pictures when it rains.

Gradually the clouds were dissipating.

Until the sky is not cloudy all day.
